Summer Program

Summer Weekly Themes

The children will enjoy learning about each subject using the hands on Montessori material. A new science theme is introduced each week of the summer session.

Cooking

COOKING

Children will have a fun hands-on cooking experience. They will learn to read a recipe, follow instructions and eat what they make. Students will measure liquid and dry ingredients. They will handle kitchen utensils such as hand beaters, sieves, graters, scales, etc. They will work as a team, learn to set a table and of course tidy up their own mess!

DINOSAURS

Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. We will learn about this fascinating group of reptiles that once ruled the earth. The children will study their shapes, sizes, habitat and eating habits.

SEA CREATURES

Whales, dolphins, sharks and starfish are just a few of the sea creatures the children will learn about. Students will identify parts of a fish, classifying vertebrate and invertebrate.

FARM

we will learn all about the animals that live on the farm, the food they provide for us, as well as the many jobs of the farmer. On one day of the week we will have the opportunity to feed and pet real live animals in a mini farm in our very own backyard.

ZOO SAFARI

We will learn about lions, elephants, tigers, giraffes, zebras, monkeys and alligators.

INSECTS

Big and small, green or red we will learn everything about BUGS! The Insect Discovery Lab will bring incredible live insects into our school. The children will explore the fantastic lives of beetles, millipedes, tarantulas, walking sticks, whip scorpions and more.

BIRDS

Ever wonder how a bird flies or how long a baby bird must be inside an egg before it hatches? These questions and many more will be investigated during our study of birds. At the end of the week we will witness a performance by the amazing Happy Birds. This will surely be an eggciting event!

TRANSPORTATION:

Take a bus or take a train.
Take a boat or take a plane.
Take a taxi or a car,
May be near or may be far.
Take a spaceship to the moon, but be sure to be back soon!
